Breakfast at Cafe Moxo in Downtown Springfield. Fresh and tasty!
Right outside Cafe Moxo was the Downtown Farmer's Market. Guess who planned that coincidence?
Peachessssssssss..mmmMMMmmm.
While leaving the farmer's market, we saw a large crowd gathering in front of the Old State Capital Building. I said, "Oh, let's go see what is going on!".
The Coast Guard was doing fancy drills. Don't know what the technical term for it was...I like "fancy drills". It was pretty awesome.
After that was over, the nerdy-history-loving-birthday-boy wanted to tour the Old State Capital building, so we did. Just so happened that Abe Lincoln showed up at noon and gave a speech. {yawn}
We left during the Q&A session after the speech.
Back at the house, we ate birthday cake and Matt went for a ride on his dad's motorcycle. He wanted to drive it back to St. Louis soooo bad but the weather map was not suggesting that would be a good idea.
On our way back home, we hit 4 storms. The second one gave way to this beautiful double rainbow! The main rainbow was pretty bright, the second one was pretty faint. The bright rainbow lasted for about 20 minutes.
The 4th storm displayed some weird clouds.
Traffic came to a dead stop on the interstate, so we took a quick exit and got some birthday ice cream!
